Childcare Centre Development – 101 Alford Street, Kingaroy
Steinhardts Building & Construction recently completed the concrete slab and hardstand carpark for a new childcare centre development at 101 Alford Street in Kingaroy. Working as subcontractors to IDC Construct from Bundaberg, our team delivered 600 square metres of daycare slab plus an additional 600-800 square metres of carpark hardstand.
Innovative Cupolex Waffle System
“We recently went to a Cupolex Waffle System away from the original raft slab, as I feel it streamlines the slab process which saves time, money and concrete waste,” explains Zac Steinhardt, owner and licensed builder. “I also feel we should see a decrease in slab cracking.”
This modern approach to commercial slab construction represents our commitment to using advanced techniques that deliver better outcomes for clients while improving efficiency on-site.
Project Challenges
The site presented specific technical challenges due to its H2 classification, which required increased mesh sizes and additional pier holes under internal beams. These engineering requirements demanded careful planning and execution to ensure structural compliance while maintaining project timelines.
Timeline and Equipment
The project was completed in two phases, with 5-7 days allocated for the main daycare slab and the same timeframe for the hardstand area. Our team utilised a 4-ton excavator, skid steer loader, and our new Formpro outriggers for the boxing work.
This project showcases our capability to handle large-scale commercial concrete work across Kingaroy and the broader South Burnett region, delivering professional results on complex construction projects.
